UK's Comic-Anime-Pop culture Convention List 2017

UK/ Scotland/ IrelandComic – Anime - Pop Culture Conventions in 2017

Here’s an updated list of upcoming Cons and where to find them. I disliked the layout on the usual con list websites (not to mention no revisions on date changes/cancellations) So made one that was a bit more simpler to navigate. I’ll try my best to keep this page updated if any changes do occur.

Crafting: Bioshock Brush Holder

Im on a Home decor journey, transforming my bathroom into the underwater chaos known as Bioshock. It's a bit tricky to achieve what my vision is...being in a rented flat and all but there are other ways to go about decorating! Now I may be your typical gamer sloth who puts minimal effort into her appearance most days, but on the other hand Ive got that urge to throw war paint on and parade the outside world with makeup! So to keep with the theme and organize my makeup tools ive made my own brush holder. Heres the finished product and I'll go through what supplies i used to complete it below.
you'll need:

Step-by-step Instructions:
1. Print out your image. Mine needed to be a full A4 sheet in order to fit on the tin so very minimal measuring for printing was needed.
2.(optional) Brew 1-2 tea bags, any brand will do. squeeze excess water out and dab the bag all over your picture for an aging effect, making sure not to over saturate the paper.
3. Once its dry, get your mod podge and craft brush and pat on a thin layer over the image.
NOTE: do NOT brush on the mod podge! this will cause the ink to smear and ruin your picture.
4. Let the mod podge fully dry then add another layer and let dry again.
5. Cut your image to the correct size and glue it to the tin (i used mod podge but any type of adhesive will do). once dry you may do a victory dance of your choosing as its now complete!
I may have used mine as a makeup brush holder but this could be use to hold all sorts of things! Have you made one of your own? I'd love to see! feel free to tag me on IG or Facebook :)

Gamer fantasy inspired Candles by Lorien Blathanna

Ever wished you could take your gaming to the next level? well why not try with these AMAZING (and pretty spot on) themed scented candles! I received one of these candles as a birthday gift and was blown away...like how does that even happen from a candle?! it inspired me to fire up the PC and dive into the Dragon age world. NO RAGRETS. haha

Since then I made my own purchase from lorien Blathanna's etsy shop (NOTE: this is a UK shop). Fandoms from my purchase include Dragon Age and Skyrim! Im planning to get some LOTR and The Witcher inspired ones next :D

If your into eco friendly products then your really going to love what this shop has to offer. All of the candles are made with natural soy wax, natural fragrance oils and smokeless cotton Eco wicks (or sustainable wood wicks).containers for candles are in widely recycled or reusable jars, pouches are hand made and everything is delivered in recycled packaging. Im def into repurposing/ reusing and products like this make nerd shopping extra satisfying! Even if that's not something you seek out when buying, you'll still be hooked in by the all fandom inspired scents that are available. Here's a few:

See anything you like? (i bet you doooo!) links to both her Etsy shop and Facebook shop are available above for further details and info on each product. Keep a look out for future giveaways through Facebook and Instagram. Enjoy!

Geek Chic Cosmetics: Swatches and Review

Fandom Makeup products and everything you need to know before ordering...

Geek Chic Cosmetics is a U.S. indie brand that sells vegan and cruelty free makeup products.
GCC have a MEGA array of products with cute themed names that will entice you to buy them all! You can buy full size or sample sizes of nearly everything. Heres what my order consisted of:
For copyright reasons products cannot use the same names the product is modeled after, only "inspired by". You'll see the same applied in fan made art. heres what the product i purchased were inspirations of: Metal gear solid-sailormoon-Harry Potter-fallout-mass effect-Harley Quinn. Can you guess which ones which? ;) Below will be swatches of each and the pros and cons.

I used a mixture of "Brothers in arms" and "Solid snake" on my eyes, as you can see SUPER pigmented. I used Everlasting Storm for highlighting cheeks.
As for pricing and postage..as expected shipping was quite pricey. Heres a mockup order to show you what full size products i could get nearly equaling the same shipping cost as my actual order.
This was a major influence on my decision to get samples instead, but honestly Im very happy with my order! the customer service was quick to respond and very informative. The perk of samples is atleast i know now what full size products i definitely want when i make another order. I hope this was helpful, feel free to ask any questions if your looking to place an order!
